    It would appear that Edward died prior to Sept 1782....he is not listed with Philip and Owen Roblin on the List of Refugess bound for Nova Scotia (Loyalists in the American Revolution, Loyalists in the Southern Campaign, Volume III, Refugees - pg 392)
    A story about Edward says he talked the jailors daughter into helping him escape by promising to marry her...she eventually goes home to her father. This supports a marriage and a child for Edward......stories in the Gallery.
    dward was a known member of the Claudius Smith Gang in Orange County, New York. Edward disappears but is not one of the gang that was captured and hanged, as was Claudius himself and a son.

    wherein he said he was born in state of New Jersey, served in the Blockhouse Battle..... recommended for an additional 300 acres 24 June 1797.

    Sworn before John Howell, J.P., one David Demore Loyalist that Stephen Roblin served in Wards Blockhouse when General Wayne and his party was defeated by Capt.Ward. Recommended July 5th 1798 for 300 acres in addition as a Block House Man.

    Stephen Roblin died intestate. Letter of Administration was granted to Owen Wessels a nephew of the said Stephen Roblin, as his next of kin.

    Historical Note:
    Settlement of Upper Canada by Dr. Canniff, 1869
    John and Stephen, his brother, lived in New Jersey & were raided by Washington's Army. Stephen was hanged by the thumbs to a tree to extract the secret hiding place of their money while in the fracas John was shot in the knee.
