    THE LATE FRANCIS JORDAN
    The death occurred at the home of his son-in-law, Benj. Swayze, Eastwood, on Sunday afternoon, August 6th, of Francis Jordan, in his 77th year. The deseased had been ill for about eight months and for the last five months had been confined to his bed.

    The late Mr. Jordan came to Canada from Wanborough, England, about 56 years ago. He lived in the vicinity of Brampton for 4 years where he married Miss Elizabeth Heath. They then moved to a farm near Eastwood and he had lived in this community ever since. He had been a member of the Eastwood Methodist church for 48 years. He is survived by two children: Mrs. Benj. Swayze of Eastwood and Mrs. John Burbanks, of East Zorra.

    The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Geo. Shields of Innerkip taking charge of the service. The casket was covered with many beautiful floral offerings. The remains were laid to rest in Princeton cemetery, beside those of his wife, who predeceased him seventeen years ago. Relatives present from a distance were: Samuel Spencer of Seaforth; Dr. Fred Heath, of Georgetown, Thomas and William Heath of Brampton.

    THE LATE FRANCIS JORDAN
    Following an illness of several months duration, the death of Francis Jordan occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. B. Swayzie on Sunday afternoon. Mr. Jordan was one of the oldest and most highly estimated residents of Eastwood. He was a faithful and valued member of the Methodist church, while he most ably filled the position of steward for 14 years.

    Two daughters, Mrs. B. Swayzie of Eastwood, and Mrs. J. Burbank of Zorra, survive. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Shields from the home of Mr. Swayzie on Wednesday afternoon. Internment was made in the Princeton cemetery. The pall-bearers were J. Schell, A. Clayton, M. Shelby, N. Lazenby, G. Town and W. Weir.

    Francis married Elizabeth HEATH on 12 Oct 1869 in Chinguacousy, Peel, Ontario. Elizabeth (daughter of Samuel HEATH and Martha JEEVES) was born on 2 Jan 1835 in Brinkworth, Wiltshire, England; died on 28 Nov 1905 in Eastwood, Oxford, Ontario; was buried in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, Oxford County, Ontario.     Burbank-Jordan

    A pretty wedding took place on Wednesday last at the Methodist parsonage, Innerkip, when Miss Martha Jordan, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Francis Jordan of Eastwood became the bride of John Burbank, of East Oxford. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Henry Wilkins. The young couple will reside in East Oxford.

    Francis Coleman Swayzie, of Victory St., Norwich, passed away June 13, at Woodstock General Hospital. He was 78. He was born in Toronto, son of the late Benjamin and Mary Swayzie. He lived and farmed most of his life near Eastwood and retired to Norwich 16 years
    ago. He taught Sunday school for 40 years at Eastwood and was a member and elder of Norwich United Church. He was also a member of the Past Time Club. Surviving are sisters Dorothy E., with whom he resided, Mrs. A. (Edith) Cox of Hamilton, Mrs. C. (Sadie) Clayton, of Woodstock. The funeral and commital service will be held Tuesday, at 2 p.m., at the Arn and Son Funeral Residence in Norwich, with Miss Jean Howe, of Norwich United Church officiating. Interrment will be in Hillview Cemetery, Woodstock.

    SWAYZIE - At the Woodstock General Hospital on Sunday July 15th, 1984, Miss Dorothy Swayzie of Durham Crescent, Woodstock, in her 79th year. Dear sister of Mrs. Alfred (Edith) Cox of Hamilton, Mrs. Clarence (Sadie) Clayton of Woodstock, and the late Francis C. Swayzie (1981). Also surviving are nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the M. D. (Mac) Smith Funeral Home, 69 Wellington Street North, Woodstock, where the complete funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 17th, with interment in the Hillview Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Coronary Care Unit at the Woodstock General Hospital. A memorial service by the Vigilant Rebekah No. 158 Norwich will be held at the funeral home 7:30 p.m. Monday.
