. Palermo Cemetery on Dundas Concession 1 SDS, Lot 30:
He sold the NE corner of his farm to be used for a cemetery & churchyard in 1818 to serve the community. He received £2 10 shillings as payment. The agreement said the land was "forever for the proper use of a place to bury the dead for them & as many of the inhabitants of Trafalgar Township lying between 12 & 16 mile Creeks as many think proper to join them & also for a meeting house & a School House should the same at any time be required." The cemetery plots were to be16 feet square & one of these lots were assigned to each family. For Charles Frederick Teetzel & his heirs there was to be a tract of land one square rod in size for a burial plot to be protected forever.

A log church was built on the front of the cemetery in 1812 to serve the Episcopal Methodist congregation of Laurence Hager. In 1851 a frame church was built beside the log church & it became the home of the Wesleyan Methodist Congregation. In 1867, a new modern church was built across the road for the Episcopal Methodists, but many still chose to worship at the old building. The log church was eventually used as a stable for some years. This was 17 years before the many Methodists united to become the United Church of Canada.

After his wife, Mary Tufford, died of consumption in 1856, Charles Frederick Teetzel stayed on his farm for 6 months. Ill health caused him to move to Milton for medical care. He died shortly after. His son, Mathias Hager, purchased land in St. Joseph's, Michigan & moved there about this time.

    * 1854 Oct 23, Monday, Fall Assizes, Hill Vs. Lyons.
    [Slightly abbreviated version- PJA.]
Dr Hill, resident in Buffalo, against Mr. Lyons, a merchant in Milton, Halton Co., upon 2 promissory notes of £200 each, besides interest. …Dr. Hill conveyed some 10 or 12 acres of land in the town of Amherst to Mr. Teetzel. He received $200 or $300 for it. Counselor for the defense, Mr. Eccles address the Jury at some length stating that
Mr. Eccles addressed the Jury. Teetzel, a man of the worst description of character, a deep, cunning, half Yankee schemer, formerly kept a store at a place called Milton & getting involved & not among in generally known transferred his whole stock in trade to Mr. Lyons a clerk in his employ, by a bill of sale for £1,683. 6 pence. For this some Mr. Lyons aged notes but on the following morning Teetzel came to Lyons & said he wanted notes down exactly to the amount of the debt he wished to pay. While drawing these notes plaintiff assumed that Mr. Teetzel picked up the 2 of the notes made on the previous day, the 28th June,1852 & put them in his pocket & had no doubt sold them. Mr. Eccles said Mr Teetzel was trying to settle up all his debts.
. The learned Counsel here read a list of the notes taken up by Mr. Lyons & read an affidavit made by Teetzel, while on arrest in Buffalo on the instance of Isaac Buchanan of Hamilton, Ontario.
The transaction had been full implanted between Teetzel & Lyons & the 2 notes had been surreptitiously obtained by Teetzel. Lyons pronounced them a forgery & it was not until he came down to Toronto & saw the notes in his own hand writing bearing the date of 28 June 1852 that he discovered they were 2 of the first batch of notes given to Teetzel which he had superseded by new notes made on 29th of June. The transaction between Lyons & Teetzel had been fraudulent on the part of Teetzel, ruled the the judge.
. Eglantine Black was employed by Teetzel & continued in the shop after Mr. Teetzel left Canada. He recognized the bill of sale drawn between Teetzel & Lyons. He was aware Mr. Teetzel was trying to settle up all his debts & was one of Teetzel's assignees. Mr Black identified the inventory made by him; also account to sale from June 3 - up to the time the goods were transferred to Mr. Lyons.
. James Laidlaw assisted in taking stock in Teetzel's shop sometime before the the goods were transferred to Loyd's. The cost of the goods on the shelves amounted to £765 6s 4.5d.
. Joseph Bell subscribing witness to the bill of sale. Knew the notes given at the time of sale. The notes were given on the day of bill of sale was executed. [brother-in-law to Mathias T]
. John White, Trafalgar Twp. remembered Mr Teetzel. I understood that he was leaving for the States, because he could not meet the demand upon him. He know of the transfer of goods to Lyons & that the had thank notes from Lyons for the amount, but not the date of the notes. Teetzel wanted me take take some of the notes. I objected to the notes for some reasons. I know Teetzel sent one a large quantity of flour. Would not say that the was not aware there was anything dishonest in leaving Canada.
. Matthias Teetzel, testified to having sold goods to Mr. Lyons, for £1,683 5p. He gave name noted to that amount on 28 & 29th of June; he gave me notes of £2000 & odds; on the 29th some of the notes were changes. Witness here referred to a memorandum book for the amount of the notes, entered were all made on 28th; I entered none of the substituted notes. I made a conveyance of my land to my father before I left Canada; did not think he made any mention in his affidavit of the good will of the businesses; the affidavit was made in order to get a discharge.
Mr. M. Cameron submitted that Mr. Eccles was wasting the time of the Court, however, the Judge ruled it was justified. Mr. Eccles here read the affidavit made by Mr. Teetzel in Buffalo.
After lengthened examination, the Judge summed up & the jury having retired shortly, returned into court with the verdict for the plaintiff of £400. Court adjourned 10 o'clock.

The culture of this fruit has been prove to be entirely feasible in many localities & we believe there are many acres of marsh lands in this vicinity which can be profitably devoted to this berry, which always commands a high price in market. Mr. M. Teetzel of this village has about half an acre of land devoted to their culture in the Twp. of Benton, which now promises to yield very large profits on the outlay. Last week we made a careful inspection this ground with Mr. Teetzel in person. The land is ordinary marsh land. The 1st step in its preparation was to take off the surface to the depth of perhaps one foot. This new surface was then covered with a thin stratum of dry sand. The field is then ready for the plants which are obtained from marshes wherever they can be found & are set in rows about 10 in. or a foot ...A small creek running near is turned on to the field at pleasure by means of a dam & aqueduct, so that it can be submerged to any desirable depth.

. 1865 Apr 29 - Obituary. Our community has just been overshadowed with a deep gloom by the death of Mr. MATHIAS TEETZEL who died on Wed. morning after an illness only 16 or 18 hours. Mr. Teetzel had been identified for many years with the business interests of this place & has always been prominent for integrity, promptness & enterprise. Few men have done more to develop the resources & add to the welsh of the village & surrounding country. Hiss loss will be keenly left by all but especially by the farmers with whom, as a grain dealer, he had become deservedly popular. He was just in the prime of life & was busy with plants for extending & enlarging his business for the season. His untimely death will be widely felt & deeply deplored. The bereaved family will receive the sympathy & condolence of the community.

. 1835 - (Esquesing, County of Halton) As soon as it was completed the first religious services were held in the Balinafad village school & meetinghouse on the corner of Nathaniel Rossel's lot [Roszel]. The meetings were held on a weekday & it was surprising to see the way the people would leave their work attend Divine Service. This was continued for several years.
The first religious awaking was brought about in a rather mysterious manner. A man named John Teetzel, who lived near where Acton now is, was thrown on a sick bed. He thought he was going to die. He had been a wicked man. In seeking someone to pray with him, he learned that in all the families for miles around no one could be found to do it. He then thought that he was lost. But just as he was about sinking into despair, the Lord gave some peace to his soul & gave him joys of salvation. He then & there pledge himself to God that he would consecrate his life to Him. And he faithfully kept his promise.
As soon as he got well, he sought out the Methodist ministers & they took him into the church. He at once commenced to hold meetings on Sabbath days around in private houses. A number of people were awakened & converted. My parents were among the number. For some years Mr. Teetzel was a power for good in that section of the country. He long since died in full assurance of faith & is now enjoying the reward of the father.

1871 Jun 9 - NARROW ESCAPE: One of the severest electrical explosions we overheard occurred here last Friday afternoon, when there was but little appearance of a storm. the report was instantaneous, like that of a pistol short & was such a crash of thunder as to startle every one who heard it. The lightning struck & shattered a cherry tree not far from the residence of Hon HC Morton & so socked John Teetzel, who was near the tree & in charge of men repairing the road, that for a few moments he was unconscious He was however, uninjured.

. 1871 Benton Harbor, Berrien Co. Directory: John Teetzel, fruit grower, SW Section 17, Territorial Road, Dr. Talman Wheeler established the "Teetzel Orchard" where he grew peaches & other fruit crops. These were the area's first formal peach orchards; they began bearing fruit in 1852. By 1855 several thousand baskets of peaches - mostly Crawfords - were being shipped to Chicago annually. The fruit was sold for $3 per bushel; the peaches were then peddled by street vendors for 10¢ each. When news of the growing qualities of south western Michigan reached points east, a steady stream of families moved to the area to try their hand at growing peaches. When the Civil War began, (1863) the departure of men joining the army created a shortage of manpower to work the state's farms. .... New sawmills produced apple barrels & peach baskets. The peach also was responsible, in large part, for the founding & early growth of Benton Harbor. Sometimes the profits form one peach crop paid for the entire land they were grow on on. ... (after 1906) the introduction of refrigerated railroad cars, Michigan's monopoly of the Chicago peach market disappeared.

. BY AN OLD SETTLER OF BERRIEN COUNTY, The "Peach Belt" was inaugurated in 1847, at this time there lies in sight from the ridge where I first got sight of that tall timber…& out of that rail timber I had at one time a mile of fence which was too high for a deer to jump. This was necessary in the fall to keep the bucks from rubbing & twisting my fruit trees with their horns. In 1850 (I think it was), Mr. E. Morton put out something of a peach orchard in addition to his fence corner trees & shortly after Dr. Talman Wheeler set what is known as the Teetzel orchard. At this time nearly all the older farms had seedling trees bearing & those men who had a surplus above their own wants began to sell at what they thought good prices.

In Watervleit, Michigan, there was a boarding-house for mill hands ...afterwards it was sawed in two, one-half as Bradt's blacksmith-shop & the other as Mr. Teetzel's residence. - Mr. Teetzel of Berrier.

Public opinion this morning seems be decidedly against trying the site of the old experiment over again. The objections raised to this site are, that it is over an old ravine & under a gutter thought which passes mrs of the filth of a block & has twice been tried without success, no more funds should be risked there. Many want the all tried on the school lot, corner of main & Ship St.; or near Mr Marsh on ship St, of St. Charles Hotel, provided the wells sunk at a new point. However, all the people want in this matter is cusses & PURE Water. How would it do to decide the location by petition.

Article & LARGE DRAWING of the TEETZEL WELL AUGER & DRILL, made by the Globe Well Works, Ottawa, Illinois.
The cut on this pate shows the Teetzel Well Auger with the new drilling attachment as used on all the combined machines now by by the Globe Well Works of Ottawa, Illinois. The same attachment can be added to the old machines made by them at a small expense. The drill as now operated is believed to be the most complete & practical device for drilling through rock of any yet made, as it works faster with the least lost of time or power. The manufactures in their circular describe it as follows:
A ratchet arm is fastened on the end of a shaft driven by a sprocket chain & intermediate gear & comes in contact with the rope to which the drill is attached, while making a sweeping movement, thereby raising the drill until the arm passes the perpendicular when it disengages itself in the ratchet & the drill is dropped, the arm being thrown around just in time to catch the drill on rebound & the operation is repeated."
To those familiar with well making apparatus this may be very plain, but to many others it will not be so easily understood. It is plain & simple enough, however, when seen in operation. The same apparatus in general is used to operate this as is used to operate the TEETZEL WELL AUGER which has the great advantage over all others of removing the dirt as fast as it is bored without taking the boring rod or shaft from the well. In operating some well machines in less than less the time is spent in taking the shaft to pieces to get the dirt out & in putting it together again. The advantages of using the one here described is apparent. For full information write the Well Works, Ottawa, Illinois.

    Notes:

Robert Prine is the son of Julia Ann Teetzel & Richard Lawrence Johnston.

. See drawings of 'Checked Store,' on King Street; also Toronto newspapers advertisements.

Robert Johnston's son, Robt Jr. was born in Acton.

. On his father-in-law's death in 1873 he inherited the east half of lot 2, Concession 2, (York) & this became his new farm. "The present home was built by Robert Johnston at the front of the farm. An addition was made to the front of the dwelling about 1892." The farm was left to his youngest son Basil.

. 1978 Nov 29 - The Siloam Brick Church as it was commonly called, was Methodist Episcopal Church, built by Eli Snyder, On the north westerly corner Lot 32, Con 3, Esquesing, & founded 1862. The erection of this church & the organization of a church society was the outcome of gracious revival at a camp meeting held in a beech & maple grove one lot east, across the road from the Churchill Cemetery. The erection of the Brick Church was an important event in the annals of the Community. The families most intimately associated with the enterprise were the Snyders, Leslies & the Johnston & others. ...Time saw numerous changes it was attached to Rockwood circuit. ...Regretfully closed in 1920 the membership was transferred to Acton Church ...The brick from the church were purchased by Mr. Basil Johnston, Lot 2 & used to brick his house.
. Orwell Johnson members got to Sunday School in a the little brick church. & traveling up the First Line from his family farm behind a trotting horse. The Johnston family didn't take Hwy. 7 to reach the corner of Hwy. 25 & Town Boundary where the church was situated. There were no paved highways in 1909. Instead the horse would travel his familiar route fromFirst Line along a sidereal now long gone, beside harry Murray's farm to Town boundary & Second Line.
Mr. Johnston remembers being taught by Mrs. Albert McKeown, mother of our presents postmaster. He loved the classes although they were very different from present day Sunday School. Both Clarence & Orwell enjoyed their Sun. School days although they maintained they were well behaved boys not getting into mischief. I had to behave - I had strict father. If a I let a hymn book fall, he would take me out & lick (punish) me.
At one point a fierce storm blew the church roof off & flattened the driving sheds. The congregation clubbed together & repaired the damaged with a few days but Orwell Johnston fells the church started to go downhill from then on. Photo of Mr Mrs. O Johnston, seated, apparently in a house.

    The Johnston Farm
. E 1/2 Lot 2, Con. 2, was taken from the Crown in 1823, & changed hands several times before it was purchased by James Leslie in 1841. In 1873, at the death of James Leslie, this 100 acres was willed to his daughter, Martha & her husband, Robert Johnston.
The first log house was built far back from the road, with part of it being over a never-failing spring. A new home was built by Robert Johnston, closer to the road, with the front part being added in 1892. Married in 1865, Robert & Martha Johnston had a family 6 sons & 6 daughters. Robert died in 1911, & the youngest son, Basil, succeeded to the farm. 3 years later he married Catherine Gray, & they had 1 son & 1 daughter. To all whom it many concern, be it known that I Charles W Teetzel of Benton, Berrier Co., Michigan, ave invented a new & useful improvement in Safety Holdback Strap Attachments, of which the following is a description [much abbreviated]
it consists of a metal case or shell to be attached to the shaft or thill, on one side of which case is a flexible metallic spring, the action of which spring holds in position within a slot in the case a loop attachment have a T shaped lug, which loop attachment holds firm when bulled backward, but which detaches itself well pulled forward… Accompanied by drawings. ...the holding back attachment holds firmly; but should the strap pull forward, because of the horse becoming detached from the whiffletree, the holdback strap will become detached from the thill & the horse go free, thus avoiding an accident by the dragging of the hills upon the ground. * History to Berrien County: CHARLES WESLEY TEETZEL:
The life of Charles W Teetzel was so varied in its activity, so honorable in its purpose, so far-reaching in its effects that it became an integral part of the history of Benton Harbor & he also left an impress upon the annals of this portion of the state. In no sense a man in public light he nevertheless exerted an immeasurable influence upon the city of his residence & in business life as a financier & promoter of important industrial & commercial enterprises; in social circles by reason of a charming personality & unfeigned cordiality; in political circles by reasons of this public spirit & devotion to the general good; & in the development of those actions which ameliorated had conditions of life & of the calling forth of benevolences & liberality. Thus it was that he became known as "one ob Benton Harbor's leading mean & best beloved citizens.
At the time of his death Mr. Teetzel was the oldest business in BH in years of continuous connection with its mercantile circles. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, Sep 23, 1851 & in his youth accompanied his parents, Mr & Mrs. John Teetzel, to Berrien county, his father being a pioneer of this section of the state. The public schools afforded his educational privileges, & when 16 y. of age he put aside his text-books & entered the business world, where for many years he figured prominently & honorably. He became apprentice to Henry Enos, the pioneer jewelery man of BH & eventually he purchased the business of his employer & continued therein up to the time of this death, covering a period of almost 40 years.
During the latter part of the time he was associated with Geo. D Alger, under the firm style of Teetzel & Alger, this connection continuing for 2 & half years. A for a period he was associated with Fred Hamilton, conducting stores in BH & St. Joseph. He was a man of progressive spirit & ever desired to attain the highest degree of perfection possible in the conduct of his businesses interests. At the same time he was thoroughly reliable & trustworthy.

In 1890 Mr. Teetzel was united in marriage to Jennie E Teetzel & their was largely an ideal married life. congenial by nature their companionship was strengthened with the passing years & it was the effort of each to promote the happiness & welfare of the other. Many there were who benefited by the efforts & liberality of Mr. Teetzel, the poor & needy always found in him a friend & no appeal was ever made to him in vain by one who really needed air. It has been said of him that he often deprived himself of pleasures he might have enjoyed were it not for the open-handedness to persons in times of distress. He gave freely, generously & unostentatiously & oftentimes no one know of his benefactions save the recipient. In fact he shunned & avoided all publicity in connection with his many kindness but be builded for himself a monument in the gratitude & love of whom he assisted. Public measures, too, received his endorsement when he felt that the purpose was to benefit the city or promote its material, social, intellectual, political of moral welfare. He was a life long & ardent Republican in politics but never held a public office, although the opportunities to do so were numerous. He held membership in the Knights of the Maccabees & the Patricians.

His death came suddenly & was a great shock to his fellow citizens. In fact he had won so prominent a place in public regard by reasons of his long & active connection with business life, his co-operation in public affairs & his efforts in behalf of the poor & needed that this death came as a personal bereavement to nearly all who knew him. e passed away July 22, 1906. He was a man of most congenial affable & jovial nature, & shed around him much of the sunshine of life. He was also a great man because of the use he made of his talents & opportunities, because his thoughts were not self-centered but were given to the mastery of life's problems & a fulfillment of this duty as a man in his relations to his fellowmen & as a citizen in his relations to his city, his state & his country.

I have the pictures, family Bible & chairs of the first man in the St. Joseph lighthouse, along with other things. One book has an article written & signed, by Gen. McAllen. I have his & his wife's picture.
My mother, Mrs. Viola Teetzel Lightner, was born in the light-house, Dec 28, 1860.
she lived there with her mother, Zelpha Chadwick Teetzel, father Lt. Charles W Teetzel & Teetzel grandfather, G B F. Chadwick. Gen. Chadwick married Capt. Lewis' daughter.

Gen. Chadwick was appointed by President Piece as superintendent of public works & later, keeper of the lighthouse, for his services as general in the state militia. He was a colorful orator & organizer during the Civil War. The lighthouse dated 1859 was built for the general & his family.
Gen. Chadwick's close friend, who lived near the lighthouse was Mathias Teetzel. He was the contractor of the canal between Benton Harbor & St. Joseph. He bought & sold wheat. His sister was the late Dr. John Bell's mother. [i.e. Mary Green Teetzel.]

Other places are restoring & moving back historical buildings & renewing their histories for students & to draw the tourist trade. I hope someone in St. Joseph has enough influence to preserve the lighthouse.

Sep 16, when her daughter, Gertrude Burns, became the bride of Mr. Frederick Orwell Johnston, fourth son of Mr. Robt Johnston, Erin. Promptly at 2:30 p.m. sounded the strains of the Lohengrin Wedding March, played by Mrs. Wm. Nelles, Jr., of Guelph, the wedding part took their place on the front verandah, under an artistically decorated arch, where Rev D H Taylor of Rockwood, pastor of the contracting parties, pronounced over them those magic words which blend for life 2 hearts together. The bride was becomingly attired in an exquisite gown of white Panama silk, trimmed with satin & allover lace, & carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley & also wore a spray of the same in her hair.
Miss Ida Johnston, sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaid & was neatly gowned in white organdy, carrying a bouquet of pink roses. Little Jessie ? Graham, niece of the bride, tastily attired in white silk & carrying a basket & wreath of white, pink & blue asters made a charming little flower girl. Mr. Robt. Nelles, brother of the bride, was groomsman. The ceremony being over & the usual congratulations extended, the guests, to the number 150, retired to the rear lawn where a sumptuous repast awaited them. Luncheon over a social evening was spent in pleasant intercourse, music, songs & addresses. The young couple were the recipients of many valuable & useful presents. On the following morning Mr & Mrs Johnston left for a trip to Hamilton & other points. Mrs. Johnston travelled in a suit of brown lady's cloth, hat to match & point d'esprit over white ilk waist. On their return they will take up their residence on "Sunnyside Farm", Erin, where they will be followed by the warm congratulations & best wishes of their many friends.

. What caught my attention was not the freshly cut grass but the lack of a driveway & boarded up windows. I decided to pull over & approach the house directly across from the location to speak with the owners & let them know my intentions & ended up getting a good chunk of history on the abandoned homestead. Despite owning the land around the house & being the caretakers for the ground the couple across the street do not own the abandoned house. The abandoned house originally belonged to a Orwell Johnson/Johnston from the early 1900's to the late 1990's. Orwell remembered the road initially being nothing more than a cattle & wagon trail in his early childhood, with the surrounding lands being used for crops. After Orwell's death the family sold the home to the current owner who decided to lease the location as development was out of the question with the house on the greenbelt. After a couple lousy tenants the house was leased. The owner decided to board up the place out of pure frustration & it now sits empty & boarded up.

    Obituary, James Marshall Fernley,
On Wednesday of last week [ Oct 23 1925]' there died at his home in Toronto one of Nature's noblemen, in the person of Marshall Fernley. Mr. F. had been sited with an affection of the hear valves a few days previously & succumbed after a brave fight for live, leaving his devoted wife & family in great sorrow by their sudden bereavement.
Mr F was a son of Joseph Fernely, for many years an esteemed resident of Acton, most of which was spent on the Abram Matthews farm on which Mr G H Switzer no leaves. He spend his youth and manhood in Acton. About 40 years ago married Miss Diana , daughter of Mr & Mrs John Matthews. A very happy married life followed & Mrs Fernley & their son & 2 daughters survive him.
Several years after their marriage Mr & Mrs Fenley removed to Brantford where he was engaged in Mercantile business.
About 20 years as Toronto was chosen as their future home & there he have rested ever since. Mr. F. being engaged in the insurance business, latterly as inspector of agencies of the Northern Life Assurance Co.
From his youth Marshall Fernley was posses of sterling character & high principles. Action upon the example of his Master, Jesus Christ, he went about doing good. Where sickness or need was helens a helping hand. His tender love & solicitude for those who were suffering was admirable. As a Christian worker in organized church & community he was a valued character. He died holding the important position of Superintendent ofSunday School of North Parkdale United Church. Incidentally it is significant that for 27 years this important Sunday School has been controlled by Acton boys. Mr S H Moore was the superintendent & when he returned to untie with a school nearer his place of residence, his immediate successor was J M Ferney who for 13 years has carried it forward with splendid success.
I was hugely through Mr F. initiative & effort that a commodious modern Sunday School building was erected half a dozen years ago.
Mr. Fernley dies in his 61st year. A public funeral was held on Friday afternoon from North Park United church, Rev J Norris Gray, being in charge. Internment was made at Park Lawn Cemetery.

    - Mr A E Nicklin, JP, Mr & Mrs A T Brown, R N Brown, Postmaster Matthews were at Toronto on Friday attending the funeral of the late J M Fernley.

Home for her first visit in 35 years [1911], Mrs. Sadie Teetzel Locke, member of a prominent early day family, found little that she could recognize left in the community where she had spent the first 13 years of her life. [b. 1898.]

Mrs. Locke, guest for a few days this week of her niece, Mrs. John Fricke, & family, of 996 Colfax avenue, lived here in the period when horse cars operated between the twin cities & the horse and carriage were the popular mode of travel.

Sadie Teetzel, as she was then known, her parents, the late George & Fannie Teetzel,
    a sister, Hattie,
& a brother, Charles, made their home on Colfax avenue, just south of today's location of the Nina Easton Beauty salon, a region which was then woodland.

The face of downtown Benton Harbor has changed entirely, according to the visitor. The few buildings of her day, which are still in existence, she says, have been so remodeled to to make identification impossible. The recalled the Bell block, which she pointe out, has changed completely in appearance.

This week's visitor is a niece of the late Charles Teetzel, Benton Harbor's leading early day jeweler. She left here when a young girl & 35 years ago paid the city her last previous visit.

Since moving from here, her home has been in Carthage. N.Y. Her brother, Charles, lived with her in Carthage until his death 7 years ago. He sister, Hattie, is also so dead. Her parents, she stated, are buried in the Teetzel family lot in Morton Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Locke returned east on Wednesday. A son & daughter reside in Syracuse. N.Y.
