    Notes:

    Mrs. Mary LeSarge of Providence Bay, a resident of the Manitoulin for more than forty years died Sunday, March 23/75 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Little Current after spending twenty years in bed following a stroke.
    She was a member of the Immaculate conception Church in West Bay and was active in all community affairs.
    She was 72. Born in Rossport, Ontario, the former Mary Perron married Joseph LeSarge on Dec. 14, 1917. They lived in Rossport where Mr. LeSarge was a commercial fisherman. They moved to Thessalon from there and then on to the Manitoulin.
    Mrs. LeSarge was predeceased by her husband Joseph in May 1965 and Gary in 1961.
    She is survived by Mrs. Russell Armitage (Marvel), Peter, Mrs. J. C. Weatherall, Mrs. Albert Davis (Anne), Robert, Jack, Morley (Cap) and Larry.
    Also to mourn her loss are 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
    The body rested at Turners Funeral Home in Gore Bay the 24th and then to her residence in Providence Bay. The funeral service was held in the Immaculate Conception Church in West Bay. Father McKay officiating, at 2 p.m.
    Interment in West Bay Cemetery.

    Gladys Ida Gravel was the daughter of Hector Gravel and Gladys Perron.
    Gladys Perron was the daughter of Pierre Perron and Anna Bella Donald.
    Pierre Perron was from Laterriere, Quebec. Anna Bella Donald was from Sonewall, Mantioba.
    First Nations heritage was passed down from Eliza Boucher who was born in Fort Alexander, NWT and married a Thomas Firth from Scotland.
    They moved to the Red River Settlement in Manitoba. Their daughter Ann Nancy Firth married a John R Donald. John and Ann had 7 children, with Anna Bella being the 2nd oldest.
    Anna Bella Donald moved to Port Arthur in the early 1890's and her first husband William Howard passed away in 1893. She remarried to Pierre Perron and they had four daughters, Gladys being the second child.
    Gladys and her sisters were born in Rossport, Ontario. Gladys is buried there with her parents.
    Gladys Perron had four other children from different fathers and she died at the age of 27 we believe from preclampsia in her last pregnancy.
    It is understood that Gladys Ida was placed in an orphange, while the other children were adopted out.

Cherished grandmother of Kim, Joe, Kenny, Angie, Melissa, Chris, Kim and Jennifer and six great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Joseph and Mary LeSarge predeceased.     John (Jack) Lawrence Sr. LeSarge
    LeSarge, John (Jack) Lawrence Sr.-age 63 years, resident of Marathon, formerly of Port Coldwell, passed away quietly at Wilson Memorial General Hospital, Marathon, Ontario, on Friday, November 29, 1991, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Providence Bay, Manitoulin Island on September 25, 1928. He came to Port Coldwell at the age of 16 years, where he worked for Nicol Bros. Fisheries. He met and Married Elizabeth (Betty) LeBar on June 22, 1946. He leaves behind to mourn his loss, his wife Elizabeth, Sons: Richard (Noella), Toronto; Roy (Ruth), Gordon (Carol), Jack Jr. (Lillian). Daughters: Linda Michano (Mike Dumas), Bev Lajeunesse (Bruce), Myrna LeSarge all of Marathon. Brothers: Morley (Cap) Providence Bay; Robert (Ivy), Wawa, Sister: Marvel Armitage, Sudbury. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws and many close friends. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary LeSarge, son Murray, brothers Roy, Peter, sisters Anne, Tiny. Arrangements for cremation by Kina's Funeral Home, Schreiber, Ontario. A memorial mass was held on Sunday, December 1, 1991, at 2 pm in Holy Saviour Church, Marathon, Ontario. A graveside memorial service will occur at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers were Leo Horth, Jerry Lamb, John Ross, Duncan Morrison, Henry Majors, and Roger Lavoie. Any so wishing may make donations in Jack's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. May he rest in peace. (handwritten 1991)

    ROBERT (BOB) LESARGE
    In loving memory of Robert (Bob) LeSarge who passed away at the Sault General Hospital on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 after a lengthy illness; Bob LeSarge in his 73rd year. Survived by his wife Ivy, sons Terry and Tim (Shona), precious grandson Danny, granddaughter Jessica all of Wawa, brother Larry of McKenzie, B.C. and special family friend Arlene McCoy of Sault Ste. Marie. Predeceased by daughter Debbie and son David, brothers and sisters Peter, Marvel, Roy, Jack, Anne, Tiny and Morley (Cap). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.     MORLEY ALBERT LESARGE
    In loving memory of Morley Albert LeSarge, August 15, 1932 - June 1, 2000. Morley 'Cap' LeSarge, a resident of Providence Bay, died at the Mindemoya Hospital on Thursday, June 1, 2000 at the age of 67 years. He was born at Providence Bay, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Perron) LeSarge. Cap had worked as a fisherman all his life, retiring four years ago. He had worked at Carlson Fishery in Blind River and had spent many years working for Bud Berry Fisheries in Leamington. Cap enjoyed life, the water and in earlier years played hockey, baseball and loved to hunt. He will be sadly missed but many happy memories will be cherished by his family and friends. Cap is survived by best friend Kay Payette, 'right hand', close friend and niece. Mandy Bellrose, husband Don, son Gary and grandchildren Dawn Lee and Marcus; brothers Robert (wife Ivy) LeSarge of Wawa, and Larry of BC.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant daughter Janeal and brothers and sisters Marvel, Roy, Peter, Jack, Tiny, Anne and Gary. Friends called at his residence in Providence Bay on Friday. The funeral mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Canada Church in Mindemoya on Saturday, June 3, 2000 with Father Michael Stogre as celebrant. Interment in Providence Bay Cemetery.     Lesarge, Peter Marvin-a resident of Providence Bay, passed away at the Mindemoya Hospital on Saturday, October 13, 1990 at the age of 69 years. He was born in Rossport, Ontario, son of the late Joseph LeSarge and the former Mary Perron. Peter was a commercial fisherman most of his life. Dear brother of Marvel Armitage of Sudbury; Tena Weatherall of Hull, Quebec; Jack of Marathon; Robert of Wawa; Morley of Providence Bay and Larry of Hull, Quebec. Predeceased by sister Anne and brother Roy. Visitors were received at the home of Morley LeSarge in Providence Bay on Monday, October 15. Funeral service was conducted at the Mindemoya Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 16 with Father Richard McDonald officiating. Interment in Providence Bay Cemetery. In Remembrance donations to the Diabetic Society would be appreciated.
