    Notes:

    Nore 1./ He married and later became a team foreman and helped build the first railroad the Sante Fe Railroad from Gainsville, Texas to Purcell Indian Territory Oklahoma. His daughter Mary was born in a tent where they lived at the time. He later opened a garage to take care of the increasing number of model T's., ice house and a small electric plant. He was also foreman of a cattle ranch for several years. He was also a deputy sheriff and bought his own farm which he cleared of trees and brush. Montague County, Texas is at or near St. Joseph, Texas.
