    • Obituary: Lawrence: Marty Cecilia Lawrence( Pryzner ) died peacefully on Sat. Oct 29, 2005 at the Assiniboine Centre after a battle with cancer. Her beloved husband of 62 years, Spencer, was at her side. Mary was born in 1923 in Shoal Lake where she received her education. At age 14, she moved to Brandon to find work and during her early life, had numerous jobs. She was particularly fond of the time spend working with patients at the former Brandon Metal health Centre from 1943-46. When she was 16, she met Spencer. They went together until age 20 when they wed in Brandon's First Church United on Dec. 11, 1943.

Mary had a great passion for fishing, golf & playing cards. She & Spencer spend many days on the boat at different lakes throughout the province. May was a spectacular cook & homemaker. In 1952 Twins Douglas & Darlene made the Lawrence family complete. In 1969, the family moved to Port Hawkesbury where Spencer was transferred with Gulf Oil. There Mary was active in the United Church auxiliary. She was head of the knitting table for bazaars & loved to knit creations for her young grandchildren & to raise money for church functions. In 1981 that family returned to Brandon where Mary & Spencer bought a home on Broda Bay. That's where they lived until 2003 when they moved into Riverheights Terrace, where Mary & Spencer quickly made dear friends. Mary overcame numerous health problems including bouts with cancer & Giullain Barre syndrome. She recently fought a recurrence of cancer but lost the brave battle.

She is survived by her husband Spencer,
son Douglas (Mary Jane) daughter Darlene (Darren)
