    • Obituary.
      Edith Gustine, 97, passed away April 30, 2011, at her home, following a brief illness.
      Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00, Friday, May 6, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 1053 E. Napier, in Benton Harbor, with Pastor Mike Schoeplein officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00. Memorials may be made to the Road to Life Church.
      Edith was born on February 17, 1914, in Manitoba, Canada. She was one of 13 children born to William & Matilda Schermer. Edith married Henry W. Gustine on May 5, 1935. Together they had 3 children. Edith enjoyed flower gardening & flower arranging. She was also known for her knitting & interior decorating. Edith loved her Lord & was a member of the Road to Life Church in St. Joseph. She will be remembered for her outgoing hospitality to anyone she met.
      Edith is survived by her children, Delores Raines of Benton Harbor, Janet (Kenneth) Ridgeway of Stevensville & Richard Gustine of Richmond, VA; eight grand children; 16 great-grandchildren; & by 13 great-great-grandchildren.
      In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband Henry in 2002; & by 7 brothers and 5 sisters. - - -
