Notes |
- He immigrated from New Jersey, USA in 1787 with 4 siblings and their families. They probably left in the summer of 1787 and travelled up the Hudson River to Albany. From here they turned west and followed the Mohawk River Valley and then Indian trails to Niagara, where they crossed the border into Upper Canada
Over his lifetime he acquired some 1000 acrtes of land in Lincoln, now called Welland County. It was on part of his property that the battle of Beaverdams was fought during the War of 1812.
