Eliza was the daughter of John Hensel and Catherine Wilkington. Her father was shot defending Fort George in May 1813 and died from his wounds at DeCew a few days later. Eliza was 2 months old. Her mother remarried and became the first wife of Richard Tunks. [Sid Prior notes]

Apparently Eliza's grandfather, Andrew Hansel (d. 1818) had a will in Thorold Twp; among other things, he left "to my grand daughter only daughter of my son John deceased two hundred acres in the Township of Uxbride being Lot 4 in Concession 4" [http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/NIAGARA-ONT/1999-05/0926876842]
Her marriage to Jacob Dale was witnessed by Calvin Burtch & Richard Tunks

-she probably died in childbirth when son John was born 1839
