-witnessed his brother Peter's marriage 1846

Marriage witnessed by R. Dawson & Job Hammond (cousin)

from Tunks descendant Chris Karlgaard, Aug. 25, 2015: "One interesting thing I did come across in the records was the name of Richard's company commander, Captain Robert Carew. Captain Carew was also apparently in command of the group of sick soldiers from the 82nd Foot at the battle of Talavera (see http://www.napoleon-series.org/military/organization/c_detach.html). The 1814 muster rolls indicate that Captain Carew was Richard's company commander during the the battle of Orthez, France, and through the final months of the War of 1812. I think I have found a little information about Robert Carew here:

I have to wonder if Richard named one of his sons, George Carew Tunks, after his former company commander. Its an interesting possibility. Do you have any information about this?"
