MARGARET J. (Cowan) MITCHELL
In the passing away on the evening of Sept. 10, 1921, of Mrs. Geo. Mitchell (Margaret J. Cowan), the community loses another faithful and devoted member. During the month previous she suffered from an illness which gradually became worse until the end. Her Christian character manifested itself in consecrated service for the Master in the work of the church to which she belonged. It is when we remember the regularity of her attendance at the Sunday services, unless where exceptional circumstances prevented, and the active part she has taken in the churchs problems, that we have reason to regret her removal. These combined to make her an asset that we are sorry to lose. For many years she has proved a true helpmate to her now sorrowing husband, and a living epistle to her children. To all there remains a legacy of heavenly influences and sweet memories. The funeral was largely attended, the service being conducted by her pastor, the Rev. S. R. Irwin. Interment was made in St. James cemetery, Brooke. The pallbearers were: D. Carr, D. Maxwell, F. Mitchell, A. Williamson, I.J. Cowan, and I. Hastings.
