FINAL CONCLUSIONS
(April 2010)

From my vantage point in 2010, based on the evidence I had developed, the parentage of the William Campbell (1819-1897) who is my maternal GG Grandfather was not conclusively proven, in a genealogical sense.  Therefore I could not categorically state that my William Campbell`s parents were Sylvester Campbell and Helen Mason.  I had reviewed several claims that put other individuals forward as William Campbell, the son of Sylvester Campbell and Helen Mason.

However, based on indirect evidence from census records, vital statistics registrations, naming conventions, immigration patterns, geographical proximities and the mass of anecdotal reporting in the Campbell-Isaac Genealogy Project, I was prepared to state that my William Campbell was the most likely candidate, by far, to be the third son of Sylvester Campbell and Helen Mason, baptized in Aberdeenshire, Scotland on 26 March 1819 as William Campbell.
