Georgina Letitia Campbell was born on 22 February 1883 in Chandos Township, Peterborough County, Ontario. Her birth registration (#027699) notes that her birth was reported by her father, David Campbell, on 22 March 1883. The 1891 Census of Canada shows Georgina  living with her parents David Sidey Campbell and Martha (McPherson) Campbell in  Chandos Township, Peterborough County, Ontario along with siblings Helena Jane “Lena” and William John. Georgina Letitia was married to Benjamin Joseph Cadwell, whose parents were Thomas and Amelia Cadwell, on 14 June 1905 in Chandos Township, Peterborough County, Ontario. The marriage was registered as #016059. The 1911 Census of Canada identifies the family of Benjamin and Georgina Cadwell, together with children Cecil and Blanch and a boarder, Annie Bullied, still living in Chandos Township, Peterborough County, Ontario. Throughout her life it appears that her preferred given name was “Georgina” as that name appears most frequently on official government documents, although within the Campbell family she was most often referred to as “Lettie”. By the time of the 1921 Census of Canada, Benjamin and Georgina Cadwell  had moved to Blenheim Township in Oxford County, Ontario. Benjamin and Georgina Cadwell had in total the following children: Cecil John Cadwell (18 February 1906 – 28 November 1979) was born (#035995) in Chandos Township, Peterborough County, Ontario while his family farmed on lot 30, concession 14 of that township; and Blanche Viola Cadwell (23 June 1910 – 26 September 1969) was also born (#039344) in Chandos Township, Peterborough County, Ontario while the family was still farming on lot 30, concession 14.
