Gibert Hart of Wyoming. passed away in University Hospital, London on Monday, August 29, 1994, In his 79th year. He was the beloved husband of Muriel (Capes ) Hart and dear father of Don and Linda Hart of Watford. Dear grandfather of Jim Hart. Dear brother of Kelth and Alma Hart of R.R. 2, Wyorning, and Ken and Pat Hart of Oakville. Predeceased by his parents John and Edna Hart, a brother Jim Hart (1948), and a grandson John Hart (1994). The funeral service was held on Thursday, September 1st at. 1:30 p.m. from the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Wyorning Chapel, with Rev. Doug Wright of Wyoming United Church officiating. At Bestview Health Care Centre on Sunday 12 June 1994, Alma Jean (Carpenter) Capes, age 94 years, wife of the late George Edward Capes. Mother of Milton of Duncan, B.C., Edward of Ottawa, Maida (Mrs, 0. Walker) of Sarnia and Madeline (Mrs. F. Ellis) of Sidney, B.C., grandmother of Carol, Marion, David, Nancy, Les1ie, Paul, Janice, Laura, Michael and Sarah. Also survived by ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Capes was a member of Paterson Memorial Presbyterian Church. Resting at the D.J. Robb Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 16th at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Rodger officiating. Interment in, Lakeview Cemetery. Susan Elizabeth Main of R.R. #6, Forest, passed away in Children's Hospital of Western Ontario, London on Wednesday, June 30, 1993, in her 16th year. Susan was the beloved daughter of Phillip Main of R. R. #6, Forest and Shirley and Randy Mlynek of Woodstock. Dear sister of Brian and Steven (Beaver) at home. Dear granddaughter of Florence and John Main of Warwick Village and Ella and Ellwood Capes of R.R.#3 Watford. Step-granddaughter of Dorothy Mlynek of Chatham. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service was held on Saturday, July 3rd with Rev. Alymer Smith of Watford and Warwick United Churches and Rev. Gordon Jackson of People's Church, Wyoming, officiating. Interment was in Warwick United Church Cemetery. Alvinston 12 April: William R. King, aged about 60 years, dropped dead at his home on the 10th Concession of Brooke today. He had been troubled with his heart for some time. A truck had become stalled in his farmyard and he took the team to haul it away. The excitement was too much for his heart and he succumbed instantaneously. He came to Brooke Township from Stayner about 12 years ago. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Sawyers, 12 line Brooke, Mrs. Fair of Sarnia and two sons Gordon in Watford and Dalton at home. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. (Note: 1882-1938: wife Margaret A. Bates 1880-1945).

Hamilton, Ont: A 38 year old Watford area man died here Tuesday 20 September in a house fire while visiting friends. Hamilton-Wentworth regional police said Wayne Caley, of RR4 watford was asleep in the home of Bill and Doris Black when fire broke out in the living room. The Blacks escaped uninjured and only the area where Mr. Caley was sleeping was extensively damaged police said. Cause of the blaze still under investigation by the fire department is thought to be "entirely accidental" a police spokesman said. Mr. Caley, born in Watford was a mechanic and operator of the All Way Variety Store and Garage. He is survived by his wife the former Violet (Ross) (Emmons), sons Andrew Gordon Ross, Darrell Paul Ross and John Caley all at home. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Caley, grandmother Mrs. Osbourne, a brother Robert, all of Watford, and sisters Mrs. Laex (Greta) Wilson of Sarnia, Mrs. Don (Lois) Lightfoot of Alvinston and Mrs. Harold (Joan) Bankes of London. Robert James Caley Jr., at the age of 21 years, was killed suddenly as the result of a truck/train collision in Warwick Township. Jamie was the beloved son of Connie (Dolbear) Caley and the late Bob Caley who passed away June 4, 1990. The adored brother of Tammy and Bill both at home. Survived by his grandmother Mabel Caley of Watford, aunts and uncles, Greta Wilson, Lois and Don Lightfoot, Joan and Harold Bankes, Violet Caley, Don and Norma Dolbear, Louise and Walter Ross, Bruce and Norma Dolbear, Joyce and Doug Young, Carol and Jack Oliver, and many cousins. Predeceased by his uncle, Wayne Caley (1977), grandfather, Jack Caley (1983), great-grandmother, Annie Osborne (1988), grandparents, Ernie and Lillian (Kerr) Dolbear (1988- 1989), uncle, Alec Wilson (1992), and co-deceased with his best friend John Hart. As a very popular young man in the community, he will be sadly missed but never forgotten by all who knew him. ROBERT CALEY

Two Watford residents were killed Monday when their pick-up truck collided with a Via passenger train in Warwick Township. Robert Caley, 21, of 588 Erie St., and Robert Hart, 23, of 418 St. Clair St., were northbound on the 6th sideroad shortly before 6 p.m. when the collision occurred, provincial police said. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. The eastbound train was travelling at speeds approaching 130 kilometres per hour (80 miles per hour) on a section of flat, straight track at the time, police said. The truck was demolished, the locomotive sustained minor damage to its front end. The crossing is level and marked, but does not have flashing lights or gates.

Joseph Higgins Caley passed away suddenly on Tuesday at noon 29 November 1966 in his 83rd year. Born in Huron Township, he had spent most of his lifetime in the Watford area. Mr. Caley was the son of the late Patrick William Caley and Elizabeth Kirk and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Maude Davis who resides at the Parker Nursing Home here. A niece Mrs. Roy Hollingsworth (Pearl) and three nephews, Ivan, Jack and Roy Caley, all live in the village. Funeral will be held from the Harper Funeral Home today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. with burial in Watford Cemetery.

Nelson John Earl Chambers, former resident of Watford and for several years in Windsor, passed away suddenly in Hotel Dieu Hospital, Windsor on Sunday 29 March. S.B. Chambers died at his home in Watford after a short illness aged 67 years. A son of the late Thomas and Margaret Chambers, he was born in Adelaide and 36 years ago he moved to Kingscourt until 1929 when he retired in Watford. Funeral for Mildred (Roberts) Clements, 91, of Sarnia, was held April 14 in the chapel of the D.J. Robb Funeral Home, with Rev. Gwyn Tucker of Parker Street United Church officiating. Mrs. Clements, who died April 11 at Sarnia General Hospital, was a lifelong Sarnia resident and member of Parker Street United Church. The death occurred in the Sarnia General Hospital today on James Copeland, age 62 years and 11 months, husband of Elizabeth Copeland. The deceased who had been ill for a month was employed in the Canadian National Roundhouse. He is survived by his wife and three sons. JAMES A COPELAND

James A. Copeland, age 77 years, a well known resident of the city dropped dead at 2.15 o'clock this afternoon in front of the premises of James Lucas, near the corner of Victoria and George Streets. Mr. Copeland was proceeding north on Victoria street en route to visit Mr. Lucas in front of whose establishment he died. Dr. J.A. Bell was immediately called to the scene, but resuscitation efforts were futile. Death was attributed to heart failure. The late Mr. Copeland was for many years a well-known figure in the life of Sarnia. He was joint owner with Ald. James Barr, of the Barr-Copeland block on Front strteet. For some time he had resided with his niece, Mrs. John Copeland, south Vidal Street. A brother John Copeland predeceased him one year ago. Though Mr. Copeland had been afficted with heart trouble for some time, he left the jewelry store to his nephew Ald James C. Barr in apparantly as good health as usual about ten minutes before his death. He stopped on Victoria street to chat with an old friend Charles McArthur and continuing towards George Street he suddenly collapsed in front of the Lucas barn.

One of the oldest residends of Watford passed away on Monday in the person of Hannah Scott, wife of the late John Bodaly, who died at her residence on Front Street in her 95 year. Mrs. Bodaly was born in Longtown, England on 23 December 1928. She was married in 1854 and came with him to Canada that same year, where they settled in Warwick township. Forty years ago they moved into this village where Mr. Bodaly was a Public School Teacher.

Born in Longtown, England, she was married to her late husband in Carlisle in 1854 and emigrated to Canada the same year, settling in Warwick Township where they lived until coming to Watford about 40 years ago where she has since resided. She was the mother of 8 children, 6 of whom survive. William and John of B.C., George, Alice and Elizabeth at home and Mrs. A.E. Doan of Thedford. The funeral service was held at her late residence and was conducted by Mr. D. McGeschy of Sarnia. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Watford Cemetery.

At the Sarnia General Hospital on Saturday 24 January 1998, Stanley Scott of RR5 Forest (Hillcrest Heights) in his 81st year. Mr. Scott was a former employee of Dow Chemical then in later years was a teacher and principal in both the elementary and secondary schools in Forest for the Lambton County Board of Education. Mr. Scott was an RCAF Veteran serving in Europe during World War II. Frances Elizabeth Searson, died 7 November 1924, age 53 years, wife of Thomas Searson of Watford was fatally burned at her home in Watford Friday morning while attending to the kitchen range and succumbed at 9 o'clock of the same evening from the shock of her terrible injuries. It is not known how the accident happened as Mrs. Searson was alone at the time and when her husband came to her assistance she was wrapped in flames. Born in Delhi, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wilson of St. Thomas, the deceased lived at New Sarum for many years, going to Watford with her husband some time ago. She leaves to mourn her death, besides her grief stricken husband, three brothers, William. C Wilson of Aylmer, James A. Wilson of London, John H. Wilson of Readlyn; three sisters, Mrs. Samson Tooney, of St. Thomas, Mrs. Thomas Park of Toronto, Mrs. Archibald McDonald of St. Thomas, four nieces, Mrs. Herbert Monteith, St. Thomas, Mrs. Muriel Reaume of Windsor, Miss Kathleen McDonald, St. Thomas, Miss Violet Park, Toronto. The funeral was held from the family residence 4th line Warwick on Sunday afternoon. A private service was held at the house and a public service was held in Watford Anglican Church by Rev. J. H. Funeral for Estella Clara (Gordon) Carroll, 81, of Sarnia, was held July 26 in the chapel of the D.J. Robb Funeral Home, with Rev. Ray Tucker of St. Paul's United Church officiating. JOHN CLIFFORD CAMPBELL

John Clifford Campbell of Lovell Street, Alvinston, who for the past 22 years owned and operated the barbershop between Stovers Restaurant and Borrowman's Hardware, passed away in Victoria Hospital London, late Monday afternoon 10 October 1967. He had been in ill health for a number of years and underwent several operations on, his legs. He always kept hoping that one day he would be back in his shop, meeting his many friends and customers. He was in his 74th year. Born in Duart, Mr. Campbell learned the barber trade during his early years but later worked for a number of years with the Street Railway at Windsor, he also drove a truck for McCall Frontenac Oil Co., St. Tomas, for six years, and moved to Dawn Township, near Florence where he lived for a few years. In 1946 he came to Alvin- ston where he finally returned to barbering. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Turner; three sisters: Mrs. Mary Terry of London, Mrs. Lila, Campbell of St. Thomas and Mrs.. Alma Woodruff of Lambeth.. Resting at the J. N. Black Funeral Home, Alvinston, where Rev. H. L. Jost will conduct the funeral service at 2.00 p.m. on Thursday October 19. Interment will follow in the cemetery at Duart.

Angus Peter (A.P.) Campbell, 83 years. of Petrolia died at CEE Hospital, Petrolia, on Tuesday, December 17, 1996. Born In Mosa Twp., the son of the late Angus and Katie Campbell (nee Leitch). Mr. Campbell worked for many years at Imperial Oil, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church. Mr. Campbell is survived by his children, Karen Campbell of Hamilton.
